It’s 3 o’clock on a Monday afternoon.

Students come pouring out of the nearby elementary and middle school excited about their school day being complete.

For some, they will return home to mom, dad, or grandma. Others will head home to an empty house. But for others, there is neighborhood clubhouse and energetic staff waiting for their arrival.

Within the Mountainside apartment community in Rancho Cucamonga, residents have an on-site afterschool program that is held in their community room each afternoon. Thanks to the Hope Through Housing Foundation, in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club, about 20 children and their parents rely on this safe, nurturing afterschool center each day.
