Welcome to the Hope through Housing Foundation!

In 2025, Hope through Housing remained focused on a simple promise – no one should have to face hardship alone. The year was defined by meaningful impact and measurable progress across Southern California and Texas, strengthening communities, stabilizing families and opening doors to opportunity.

“Our work in 2025 reflects real lives changed through intentional investment and community-driven support,” said Dixie Torres, director of program quality and data management. “Through this work, we reaffirmed our commitment to walking alongside residents as they build their futures.”

Key milestones from the year include:

  • Building Bright Futures awarded $41,000 in scholarships to support 34 high-achieving residents of National CORE affordable housing communities as they pursued higher education with guidance and encouragement along the way.
  • Pathways to Economic Empowerment delivered $62,087 in emergency assistance to 52 families, providing stability at critical moments and reinforcing that help was within reach.
  • Volunteers from Bank of America, Women of Hope, SoCalGas, US Bank and many other groups contributed a record 7,290 volunteer hours, ensuring residents felt supported, connected and seen.
  • Connections to Care expanded health and wellness programming, social activities and access to much-needed meals and groceries for seniors facing rising food insecurity, reducing isolation and strengthening community ties.
  • Working in partnership with National CORE, our sister nonprofit, we continued creating pathways from homelessness to housing stability through our Unlocking Opportunities program. In 2025, we added 90 households to our permanent supportive housing program, bringing the total to 877.

“As we move into the next year, we are focused on expanding our impact while staying rooted in our promise to residents,” Executive Director Alyssa Cotter said. “The future is about deeper partnerships, stronger programs and continued progress toward housing stability and opportunity for all.”
