Brenda Rodriguez Joins Hope Through Housing Board of Directors

The Hope through Housing Foundation and National CORE are proud to welcome Brenda Rodriguez to the Hope through Housing Board of Directors.

Rodriguez is the Executive Director of the Affordable Housing Clearinghouse, a nonprofit community lender and homebuyer education provider. The organization has supported affordable housing and community development projects for more than 30 years.

Brenda Rodriguez Brings Affordable Housing Leadership

Brenda Rodriguez brings more than 13 years of experience helping Southern California families move closer to homeownership. As Executive Director, she leads strategy, supports a team of HUD-certified housing counselors, and works directly with families preparing to become first-time homebuyers.

Her work focuses on financial education, community lending, homebuyer readiness, and building generational wealth for low- and moderate-income families.

Supporting Families Through Homeownership

As a member of Hope through Housing’s Board of Directors, Rodriguez will bring deep knowledge of affordable housing, community partnerships, and homebuyer education.

Her experience supports Hope through Housing’s mission to help residents build stability, opportunity, and long-term well-being. Her leadership also connects closely with Pathways to Economic Empowerment, a Hope through Housing program focused on financial education and coaching.

Personal Experience Drives Her Work

Rodriguez’s commitment to affordable housing is also personal.

As a child, she experienced overcrowded housing in South Central Los Angeles. At one point, she shared that 14 family members lived together in a two-bedroom apartment with one bathroom.

That experience continues to shape her work today.

“Over time, a lot of the family members have secured their own housing,” Rodriguez said. “And when I think about how each of my five siblings have become homeowners over the last 10 years, it motivates me to help other families achieve that dream.”

Connecting Communities to Opportunity

In her role at the Affordable Housing Clearinghouse, Rodriguez continues to engage with Spanish-speaking families, lenders, and community groups.

She meets with potential homebuyers, provides financial literacy education, and presents homebuyer education information at community gatherings, including Parent Teacher Association meetings.

A Shared Commitment to Stronger Communities

After attending the National CORE and Hope through Housing Board Meeting in May 2022, Rodriguez said she felt confident in the organizations’ ability to make a meaningful difference.

“Your net worth is your network,” Rodriguez said. “Who do you know that would be interested in what you’re passionate about?”

Her leadership, lived experience, and professional expertise will help Hope through Housing continue supporting residents, families, and communities through affordable housing, financial empowerment, and long-term opportunity.
