Eleven graduates proudly received their CORE Academy certificates during a ceremony at the Ontario Airport Hotel, marking a major milestone in their career journeys on Aug. 14.
The graduation capped a rigorous six-week course focused on the ins and outs of property management.
For graduates like Thadeuz, a Rialto resident who completed the Property Management cohort and is enrolled in the Maintenance class, the experience was more than just training – it was a chance to build a flexible foundation.
“Having both trainings under my belt really helps me stand out,” he said. “It was a good way to get both management and hands-on experience at the same time. It prepares me for whatever situation I’m in and helps me step confidently into different roles.”
Training plays a vital role in preparing workers for long-term success in a competitive economy, as highlighted by the California Learning Resource Network. Programs like CORE Academy help bridge the skills gap, promote career agility and empower individuals to step confidently into evolving roles.
Launched in 2022, CORE Academy is a collaboration with affordable housing developer National CORE and led by Angel Rogers, director of learning and development. Since its inception, the program has helped dozens of individuals gain skills and certifications in maintenance and property management.
The program is expanding to offer even more pathways into high-demand fields, with new tracks in hospitality now available and additional options in marketing and digital tech actively underway.
With certificates in hand and new skills to match, these eleven graduates are stepping into their next chapters with purpose and momentum.
