Sep 18, 2015 | News Releases

Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. – Six “CORE Has Talent” finalists have been selected for the chance to perform at the Hope through Housing Foundation’s Gala on November 5.

Auditions for CORE Has Talent took place in August at four National Community Renaissance (National CORE) properties in Southern California, and featured a variety of musical and dance performances.

Finalists will perform at National CORE’s employee meeting on October 22. Employees will determine who will perform at “An Evening of Hope, Rolling out the Red Carpet” at the Sheraton Fairplex in Pomona, California. The first-place winner will receive $1,500, while the second-place finisher will get $1,000.

The finalists are:

The Devia Brothers (Villaggio on Route 66, Rancho Cucamonga)
Amina Bolden (Downey View, Downey)
Garland Green (Hawthorne Terrace, Hawthorne)
Jose Carrillo (Park View Terrace, Bell Gardens)
Adam Ramos (La Mission Village, Oceanside)
Monique Sanchez (Melrose Villas, San Marcos)

“It’s a wonderful opportunity to showcase the work we do and the people – and communities – we serve,” said Steve PonTell, President and Chief Executive Officer of National CORE, said of the 2015 Gala.

“We understand that to create long-term and significant community change, housing is only a first step,” said Ciriaco “Cid” Pinedo, President of Hope through Housing. “True revitalization occurs when there is access to resources that promote prosperity, quality of life and physical well-being.”

Videos of the auditions have been posted at www.nationalcoregala.org and at www.facebook.com/nationalcore.
