Ground Broken on Oakcrest Terrace Apartments; Community to Combine Affordability, Access to Employment Opportunities

Yorba Linda, Calif. – National Community Renaissance and the City of Yorba Linda today broke ground on Oakcrest Terrace, a 69-unit apartment community combining affordability, livability and durability.

Oakcrest Terrace has been designed to meet the housing needs of four high-priority market segments: the locally employed, seniors, veterans and families. Access to employment opportunities – via public transit, proximity to the 91 Freeway and promotion of active transportation – is a key component of the apartment home community.

“As important as it is to create stable living environments, ‘housing’ and ‘affordable housing’ – in today’s world – involve so much more than four walls and a roof,” said Steve PonTell, President and Chief Executive Officer of National CORE, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit developers of affordable housing. “Transforming lives and communities requires a much more holistic approach. Affordability, yes. Durability, yes. Having access to a variety of transportation options so that people can readily get to and from work, absolutely.”

National CORE, through its Hope through Housing Foundation, also provides a variety of social services designed to promote upward mobility and financial independence. Features such as a computer lab and afterschool programs will be available for residents of Oakcrest Terrace within a 3,700-square-foot community center.

Oakcrest Terrace is located at 22744 Eastpark Drive in the Savi Ranch neighborhood of Yorba Linda.

Financial partners in the project include Citibank and Raymond James Associates. The architect in Wayne Davis. Other partners include DCi Engineering Inc. and landscape architects RRM Design Group.

    How do I pay my rent or set up a payment plan?
    You can pay online through your resident portal, by mail, or in person at your community office. If you're worried about a payment, please talk with your property manager early — we'll work with you to find a plan that fits your situation.
    How do I submit a maintenance request?
    Submit non-urgent requests through your resident portal or at the on-site office. For urgent issues — like a water leak, no heat, or a safety concern — call your community's after-hours line right away.
    What programs are available to me as a resident?
    Most communities offer Connections to Care, Pathways to Economic Empowerment, after-school learning, and senior wellness programs. Programs vary by site — your resident services coordinator can walk you through what's offered near you.
    How do I become a Hope Through Housing resident?
    Visit the Communities page to view openings and eligibility. Each community has its own application process. Our team can help you understand the steps, gather what you need, and apply at your own pace.
    Is my personal information kept private?
    Yes. We only collect what's needed to support you, store it securely, and never share it without your permission except where the law requires. You can review or update your information any time.
