After an intense six-day crash course on the transformative and growing affordable housing industry, CORE Academy congratulated its 12 newest property management graduates at a Feb. 27 ceremony at the Ontario Airport Hotel.
Led by National CORE Director of Learning and Development Angel Rogers, the latest cohort of grads celebrated the end of their educational journey and the start of their careers as property management professionals. At the event, graduates spoke with recruiters from Lewis Management Corp., Career Strategies Inc. and National CORE.
Sisters Melissa and Arlene Huerta said the program was an engaging and quick introduction into property management and that they are both enamored with the idea of having a strong career where they can help people.
“I lived at Sunset Heights in Alta Loma for seven years and loved it,” Arlene said. “The management team was always so nice, and they had so many programs available for my niece and it got me interested because I saw that they loved their job and the impact it had on others.”
Hope through Housing and National CORE launched CORE Academy in 2022 to create a pathway into entry-level property management and property maintenance careers for Inland Empire residents. The program is part of Hope through Housing’s Pathways to Economic Empowerment program.
The year’s first cohort of property maintenance students is currently underway.
