Hope through Housing and National CORE have officially launched the first cohort of 2025 for their CORE Academy hands-on training program in property management and property maintenance.
This innovative program equips individuals with limited or no previous experience with the essential skills and knowledge needed to secure entry-level employment in the rapidly growing residential services fields.
Thanks to a generous grant from the County of San Bernardino, the program is offered at no cost to participants, making it an accessible and valuable opportunity for those looking to build a career in the housing industry.
Nearly 20 students attended the first class in the property management track, held Jan. 30 at the Ontario Airport Hotel. This property management course focuses on equipping participants with practical skills in leasing and managing the diverse needs of residents in multifamily housing communities. These skills are crucial as the demand for leasing and managing the needs of residents of multifamily housing communities continues to grow in the region.
The property maintenance track began Feb. 12 and will run through March 26. This track focuses on the hands-on technical skills required to maintain and repair residential properties, an area with a high demand for qualified workers.
The programs are taught by National CORE’s Learning & Development staff and guided by our 30+ years of property management and maintenance experience. They are part of a broader Hope through Housing program designed to help lift residents out of poverty.
The CORE Academy team expects to teach four cohorts in 2025 for the program, which launched in 2022. Efforts are also underway to add additional disciplines, including hospitality.
