Hope through Housing Foundation receives $2,500 to support Youth Development in North County

Oct 20, 2021 | After-school Program, Building Bright Futures, Fundraising, News Releases

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. – The Nordson Foundation has awarded the Hope through Housing Foundation a $2,500 grant to support its Building Bright Futures youth development program in North County of San Diego County.

“We are grateful to the Nordson Foundation for investing in the trajectory of kids in North County,” said Hope through Housing President Greg Bradbard. “These funds will go to after school programs that, right now, are more important than ever.”

In partnership with its housing partner, National CORE, Hope through Housing provides a stable living environment for low-income individuals and families who may otherwise be at-risk of homelessness. It provides family stabilization leading to economic mobility through the combination of a secure, affordable apartment home and onsite services/supports that empower adults to overcome barriers to employment and improve their financial situation and prepare youth for future self-sufficiency. This work has proven particularly crucial during the current health crisis. The Nordson Foundation grant will be used to support after-school programming to help young people advance both socially and academically.

Hope through Housing works to utilize affordable housing as a powerful platform for life transformation, empowering residents to reach goals they never previously thought were possible. It works to remove barriers to economic success for vulnerable populations and expand access to economic opportunity in low-income communities by providing a customized mix of services to help affordable housing residents increase their economic mobility and support academic success and future self-sufficiency.

Hope through Housing Foundation’s mission is to help break the cycle of generational poverty. Utilizing onsite community centers and long-standing relationships with residents living within National CORE affordable apartment communities, it is able to deliver resources and support right where residents live, throughout and beyond the COVID-19 crisis. And it is doing just that.
