Hope through Housing played a pivotal role this January in the 2025 San Diego annual Point-in-Time Count, joining forces with the Regional Task Force for the Homeless to canvas Downtown San Diego.

The #WeAllCount initiative brings together volunteers and service providers with the goal of better understanding and responding to the needs of those experiencing homelessness in our communities.

This annual event is a chance to amplify our work and advocate for those who often go unseen. It is a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come and how far we still must go in addressing the homelessness crisis.

The 2024 point-in time count, conducted a year ago, showed a sharp increase in community members experiencing homelessness – over 10,000. In the face of this growing challenge, we are working alongside San Diego leaders to mitigate the affordable housing crisis.

Hope through Housing provides supportive services to 321 Permanent Supportive Housing apartments, which provide a refuge for residents who have experienced homelessness, as part of our 26 San Diego area communities. These homes – a significant share of the 800 we serve across California – provide the stability of permanent housing as well as the support residents need to rebuild their lives.

Our development partner, National CORE, is working on 80 more PSH apartments in San Diego as part of nine new communities.
