For children from Rancho Verde, a simple shopping trip became a joyful, confidence-boosting experience – all thanks to the generosity of Verve Church.
Champs Sports in Rancho Cucamonga’s Victoria Gardens became a hub of excitement as 81 kids eagerly picked out brand-new shoes thanks to our dedicated partners at Verve Church. This isn’t the first time Verve has stepped up to help our children gear up. For some kids, this is one of the few times they have new shoes – and that gift can have an amazing impact on building confidence.
The day’s fun continued with a sweet treat from Cold Stone Creamery, raffle prizes like Stater Bros gift cards and a grand prize of four tickets to Disneyland.
“Verve has once again shown how important it is to pour love and care into our kids,” said Deondra Gutierrez, manager of resident services. “These moments have a lasting impact on our residents, and we are so grateful that they continue to show up for our them year after year.”
For nearly a decade, Verve Church has partnered with Hope through Housing to bring joy and support to Rancho Verde families through back-to-school events, Christmas parties and so much more.
The shopping trip was funded by church member Matthew Prok.
“I know how important shoes are for kids. It’s the first thing people look at when they meet you – they look right down at your shoes. Shoes are a big confidence booster for people,” he said. “It’s an opportunity to let them know that God loves them and they’re worth it.”
With the help of partners like Verve Church, we help children in our programs put their best foot, and shoes, forward – and put hope into every home.
