The San Diego Housing Federation brings together developers, service providers, policymakers and community leaders to expand equitable, affordable housing. Through advocacy, education and collaboration, the organization works to increase access to housing and support long-term community stability.
Galka, who is assistant vice president of operations and supportive housing for Hope through Housing, will help shape housing policy, elevate best practices and strengthen partnerships that expand access to stable housing.
“Being on the San Diego Housing Federation’s board deepens my commitment to advancing housing solutions that are not only innovative, but operationally sound and truly responsive to the needs of vulnerable communities,” Galka said. “I’m especially excited to support and contribute to the impactful work of SDHF as it strengthens education, elevates best practices and advances policy.”
Galka has designed and implemented supportive housing models for vulnerable populations, including seniors, veterans and individuals transitioning out of homelessness for more than 20 years.
Her experience spans nonprofit, healthcare and public-sector systems, guiding developments from concept through stabilized operations. She is known for aligning data, operations and services to deliver sustainable, community-responsive housing.
At Hope through Housing, Galka leads efforts to integrate supportive services within affordable housing communities, connecting residents to programs that support economic mobility, well-being and long-term stability.
“AJ’s leadership reflects a deep commitment to ensuring residents have both housing and the support needed to thrive,” said Alyssa Cotter, executive director of Hope through Housing. “Her perspective will be instrumental in advancing housing solutions that strengthen communities.”
