The first day of school should be filled with excitement, not worry.
But for thousands of families, purchasing backpacks, notebooks, pencils and other classroom essentials places an added strain on already stretched household budgets. When children arrive without the supplies they need, it can sap their confidence before they even take their seat.
That’s why Hope through Housing’s annual Back-to-School Supply Drive exists.
Last year, you helped provide more than 2,500 fully stocked backpacks to children across our communities. Those backpacks gave students the tools they needed to start the school year prepared and ready to learn. Over the past five years, your support has helped place more than 10,000 backpacks into the hands of local youth.
This year, the need is even greater.
Rising costs continue to challenge families and new communities have joined our network. As a result, more children are counting on the generosity of people who believe every student deserves an equal opportunity to succeed.
Whether it’s a backpack, notebooks, pencils, crayons or other classroom essentials, every donation helps remove a barrier between a child and their education.
