Claremont, Calif. – Women of Hope, a dedicated volunteer group supporting children in low-income communities, successfully raised more than $102,000 for free after-school programs and scholarships at its fifth annual Beauty, Bubbles & Bites event.
This year’s celebration, held on July 18 at the Padua Theatre in Claremont, attracted more than 250 influential local businesswomen and community leaders. Hosted by the nonprofit Hope through Housing Foundation, the event raised nearly $10,000 more than in 2023.
“Beauty, Bubbles & Bites showcases the incredible impact we can achieve when passionate women unite for a common cause,” Hope through Housing Vice President Alyssa Cotter said. “With these funds, we can better serve our communities and provide essential tools to help children build brighter futures.”
Women donned floral attire in vibrant colors to match the Havana Nights theme while enjoying the melodic hum of salsa music. Throughout the night, guests participated in auctions, wine pulls and Hope through Housing’s Sponsor a Child campaign.
“It was an extraordinary evening of dancing, networking and fundraising, all in support of our Building Bright Futures Initiative,” Hope through Housing’s Director of Philanthropy Jessica Brown said. “This initiative is the cornerstone of our efforts to break the cycle of generational poverty.”
The Building Bright Futures initiative supports a wide range of essential programs, including after-school activities, literacy resources, STEM projects, back-to-school supplies and scholarships. Women of Hope are champions for the initiative, raising more than $300,000 over the last five years.
“This group of amazing women comes together as a community to extend love and support to children,” said Sonja Coffee, a dedicated Women of Hope member. “Being part of Women of Hope allows us to do so much more, and I am so honored to contribute to such a meaningful cause.”
