Overview

Hope through Housing Foundation will award up to 20 scholarships to graduating high school seniors and adult learners through the Scholarship Program. Scholarships range from $500 to $1,000 and are to be applied toward direct educational costs not covered by other financial aid (text books, travel, etc.). A committee of Hope through Housing volunteers will review and select award recipients.

Scholarship Qualifications

Hope will offer two eligible categories: youth and adults. Graduating high school seniors and adult learners pursing higher education may apply. Scholarship funds must be used to support costs associated with studies leading to a certificate or degree from a reputable institution.

Applicants must live in a National CORE community. Residency will be verified.

Children of HTHF or National CORE employees who live on property are eligible to apply. However, the number of scholarships awards are not to exceed 25% of scholarships awarded (i.e., if 16 scholarships are awarded, only 4 awards can be given to children of employees).

Scholarships may be applied to direct educational costs including tuition, books, parking, lab fees, program supplies/materials, and/or other on-campus expenses.

Award recipients can reapply annually and receive an award for up to a total of four years.

Scholarship Process

Applications must be submitted online. Paper applications will be accepted but MUST be received by the Hope through Housing office before close of business on April 12. No exceptions will be made.

Online applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM on April 12. No exceptions will be made.

Applications will be initially screened by Hope through Housing staff. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed by the scholarship review committee.

The scholarship review committee, comprised of Hope through Housing volunteers, will review applications and may request in-person or phone interviews to determine winning applicants. The committee will decide the award amounts of $500 -$1,000 for each scholarship.

Award recipients will be required to show proof of enrollment, submit a brief summary of how funds were used, write a thank you card, and will be asked to attend one Hope through Housing event during the year as our guest (Open House, Circle of Hope reception, Gala, etc.).

All applicants, whether awarded or not, will be notified by June 1st of decisions.

For those reapplying for a subsequent year, a report of how prior year’s funds were spent will be used to evaluate consideration for continued support.
