In celebration of National Volunteer Week, 26 Hope through Housing volunteers trekked across Southern California to support three of our initiatives. With the support of Bank of America, Pacific Western Bank and U.S. Bank, 29 hours of community service were donated over five days to deliver services to underserved communities.
Sixteen volunteer opportunities supported our initiatives by participating in career conversations (Building Bright Futures), providing financial education (Pathways to Economic Empowerment) and hosting dance classes for our seniors (Connection to Care).
Keeping in the theme of financial literacy month, Pacific Western Bank representatives provided youth with stories of success during our career conversations. Bank of America held nine financial education courses. With U.S. Bank, we were able to offer workshops to the San Diego region.
National Volunteer Week plays part in a larger picture of service for Hope through Housing. Since January, we have banked 665.7 hours of community service and counted 234 volunteers.
Volunteers complement our mission to transform lives and communities. Without the support of partners and individuals, none of this would be possible. Thank you!
